Recommendation

Recommended Action:

Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Services Management Group (DSMG) make a motion to approve the special event known as El Camino's Cinco De Mayo Celebration to be held on May 5, 2024; and authorize the Special Event Manager (SEM) to take all actions necessary to effectuate the Special Event Permit.

 

Body

Background:

El Camino submitted a SPecial Event Application on March 13, 2024. This free event will be to celebrate Cinco De Mayo for the community. El Camino is looking to use the east end of the Great Lawn at Old School Square.  The area will be fenced in with a DJ, food, face painting, photo booth, tables and a bar.  El Camino will be serving alcohol and will have security on site. The anticipated attendance is 500 people throughout the day. El Camino is not looking to close any roadways.

 

Special Event Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC recommends DSMG approve the event.

No special conditions are recommended by SETAC

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Anticipated city costs to the event producer are to be determined.

 

Timing of Request:

The event is approaching and the producer would like to begin advertising.
