Staff recommends the City enter into an agreement with Florida Atlantic University’s College of Medicine to host an EMS Fellowship program.

Background:
The Fire Rescue Department was approached by the FAU College of Medicine to engage in an EMS Fellowship program. This will enhance our services by providing medical direction with our staff and collaboration in education with the EMS Fellow. This relationship will further the medical care for the patients that the department encounters and enrich the lives of citizens of Delray Beach by providing better trained personnel.
City Attorney Review:
Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact as this agreement involves no fiduciary responsibility to the city. Florida Atlantic University retains the responsibility for liability insurance and other expenses that are part of the program.
