Recommended Action:

Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Services Management Group (DSMG) make a motion to approve the special event known as Play For A Purpose Lacrosse Series to be held on May 10, 2025 & June 7-8, 2025; and authorize the Special Event Manager (SEM) to take all actions necessary to effectuate the Special Event Permit.

Body

Background:

The Riptide Youth Lacrosse submitted a Special Event Application on June 13, 2024 for the Play For A Purpose Series to be held on May 10, 2025 & June 7-8, 2025 at the Seacrest Soccer Complex and Hilltopper Stadium.  This event was held prior to COVID for 8 consecutive years, the last event happening in 2019. This event is held for local lacrosse families to play in an event where proceeds are donated to charity.  Each day of the series is estimating 1000 people in attendance.

Special Event Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC recommends DSMG approve the event.

No special conditions are recommended by SETAC

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

All event costs will be billed to the event producer.  Those costs are to be determined.

Timing of Request:

The event producer would like to begin reaching out to lacrosse teams to play.
