Recommendation

Motion to Approve Resolution No. 78-24 to award a City Standard Agreement with Tencarva Machinery Company, LLC d/b/a Hudson Pump & Equipment Company, for the purchase of two (2) Gould’s Lime Slurry Pumps, for the City of Delray Beach (CODB) Water Treatment Plant (WTP), in a total purchase price of $101,974 ($50,987 each respectively).

Body

Background:

The City of Delray Beach (CODB) Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is equipped with six (6) pumps used to dispense slurried lime to the WTP clarifiers as part of the water treatment process. In 2019, under an approved sole source the WTP purchased (two) 2 Gould’s Lime Slurry Pumps of the six (6) as they had reached they’re useful life and were in need of replacement. The Utilities Department (Dept) requests to purchase the same Gould’s pumps and to continue with the same brand through a direct replacement authorized distributor of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) Hudson Pump & Equipment Company.

These pumps are necessary to provide the appropriate treatment for potable drinking water supplied to CODB customers that is compliant with federal and state regulations.

This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approved Required and Purchasing Policies.
