Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Authorize CRA Staff to update the CRA GIS Property Map with potential properties for disposal for potential use as affordable housing.
Body
Background:
On March 29, 2023, the Senate Bill 102 known as the Live Local Act was signed into law and became effective on July 1, 2023. Sections 4 and 7 of the Bill amends Sections 125.379 and 166.0451, Florida Statutes, respectively. The language states that by October 1, 2023, and every 3 years thereafter, each county and municipality shall prepare an inventory list of all real property within its jurisdiction to which the county or municipality or any dependent special district within its boundaries holds fee simple title which is appropriate for use as affordable housing.
Staff reviewed the CRA Owned properties and determined that the CRA owns the following properties which are potentially appropriate for use as affordable housing. The properties are located at:
• 106 NW 10th Avenue (Property Control Number, PCN, 12434617420060240).
o This PCN includes one lot that can be subdivided into two lots. The property has an elongated alley to the north and south. The CRA will explore options to abandon the alley as necessary.
• 260 NW 9th Avenue (PCN 12434617250010320).
o This PCN includes one lot.
• 256 NW 8th Avenue (PCN 12434617250020310).
