Approval of Resolution No. 226-25 to approve an agreement with Allied Universal Corporation, for the purchase and delivery of sodium hypochlorite; utilizing the City of Fort Lauderdale Cooperative Solicitation IFB No. 519-2, in a total contract amount not to exceed $2,440,000.

Background:
On August 13, 2025, the City of Ft. Lauderdale served as "lead agency" on a cooperative solicitation IFB Event No. 519-2, on behalf of the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative (Co-op). The City of Delray Beach (City) is a member of this Co-op who achieves savings for approximately 45 governmental entities that combine purchasing power to provide cost savings and achieve fixed and firm prices to all entities. Allied Universal Corporation was deemed as the lowest and most responsible bidder. The awarded bid price is set at $1.66/gallon which serves as a $0.19 increase over current price of $1.47/gallon. The bid award provides an initial contract term of two (2) years valid through November 29, 2027, with an option for up to two (2) additional one-year renewals valid through November 29, 2029.
Sodium Hypochlorite or (bleach) a chemical added to finish water and used as a disinfectant in the water treatment process.
This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies.
