Recommendation

Motion to approve of Amendment No. 2  approving an increase to contract value by $64,000 for excavation and stockpiling services with Dev-Land Demolition & Site, Inc., under  the City of Delray Beach Solicitation No. 2019-033, for a total contract value not to exceed $2,134,750.

Body

Background:

On October 19, 2019, under Resolution No. 129-19 the commission approved an agreement with Dev-Land Demolition & Site, Inc., for Lime Sludge Removal and Disposal, pursuant to Invitation to Bid Solicitation No. 2019-033. On August 16, 2022, the City Commission approved Amendment No. 1 authorizing a price adjustment and increasing the total contract value to $2,070,750 through October 14, 2024. Amendment No. 2 will allow excavation and stockpiling services from the City's lagoon prior to loading and hauling away lime sludge. These additional services are needed when the existing equipment (i.e. vacuum filter, thickeners) are taken off-line for corrective and or preventative maintenance.

The acquisition of service is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, and City Policies and Procedures.
