Motion to approve Resolution No. 37-26 to retroactively approve a City Standard Agreement CS2026-008 with Badger Meter, Inc., for continued purchase of water metering technology products for the Utilities Department (Utilities), in a total contract value not to exceed $624,000 (respectively $208,000 per year).

Background:
On January 15, 2015, City Commission under Solicitation No. 2013-017 approved an Agreement with Innovative Metering Solutions., for the procurement and installation of a comprehensive advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and water meter replacement project. On April 4, 2018, Innovative Metering Solutions, Inc., was acquired by Badger Meter, Inc., (Badger).
Utilities desires to continue to procure Badger products and services to support the existing meter infrastructure. The Agreement will allow Utilities to purchase meter supplies and support daily metering operations including new metered connections, meter service upgrades for both potable and reclaimed meters, as well as replacement of out of warranty or damaged registers, collectors (endcoders), and metering interface units that capture water meter data through fixed radio antennas (gateways) to Badger’s Beacon “Eye on Water” portal.
This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies
