Motion to approve request to apply for a reimbursable summer camp scholarship program through the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department (YSD) and if approved, to receive payments based upon the program eligibility guidelines.

Background:
The Summer Camp Scholarship Program covers full-tuition and fees for summer camp to children residing in families with income at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Parents may choose from a list of participating camps throughout Palm Beach County and allows parents to go to work with the knowledge that their children are in a safe environment. For the children that attend, it provides them with educational and recreational opportunities for growth.
The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department provides a safe and structured program which consists of supervised recreation and sporting activities.
The table below shows the last six (6) years of total funds scholarships and funding reimbursed through the YSD Program.
