APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 118-26 TO AWARD A MASTER CONTRACTOR/SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PERRY WEATHER, INC. FOR SEVERE WEATHER DETECTION SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE AS AN APPROVED CITY STANDARD FOR A THREE (3) YEAR AGREEMENT WITH TWO (2) ONE-YEAR RENEWALS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000.00.

Body

Recommended Action:

Motion to approve Resolution No. 118-26 to award a Master Contractor/Services Agreement with Perry Weather, Inc. for Severe Weather Detection System and Software Services in the estimated amount not to exceed $100,000.00 over three (3) years with two (2) one-year renewals, and authorize the City Manager to exercise renewal options.

Body

Background:

Perry Weather has provided weather monitoring and lightning detection services to city parks and facilities since 2023 using a Sole Source purchasing method. The first unit was installed at Pompey Park Pool, followed by a second installation at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in 2024. With the second installation, the City entered into a Master Services Agreement extending services through June 2026.

On March 26, 2026, in accordance with Section 38 of the City’s Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual, the City’s Chief Financial Officer approved Perry Weather as a City Standard for five (5) years. A third unit was installed at Miller Park in May 2026.

Perry Weather is the Parks and Recreation Department’s standardized weather monitoring and lightning detection system, combining on-site weather stations with subscription-based software, providing real-time weather monitoring and alerts.

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to continue expanding to additional park facilities and athletic fields throughout the City to enhance public safety and support timely operational decision-making during weather events.
