Recommendation
Motion to approve an additional spending request and contract increase to Agreement ITB2025-047 with Odums Sod Inc., in the amount of $200,000 for a revised total contract amount of $575,000.
Body
Background:
On July 28, 2025, the City of Delray Beach advertised Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 2025-047 Annual Sod and Sod Installation Services for the Parks and Recreation Department.
Only one (1) bid was received and Odums Sod, Inc. was deemed to be the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder.
On October 14, 2025, the City Commission approved Resolution No. 205-25 and an agreement with Odums Sod, Inc. for Annual Sod and Sod Installation Services pursuant to ITB 2025-047 in an amount not to exceed $375,000.
The Department is requesting approval of an additional spending authorization and contract increase to include sod replacement at Plumosa Park and additional park locations to complete capital improvement projects funded through the General Obligation (GO) Bond, which was not included in the original scope of work.
This request is funded through the voter approved General Obligation (GO) Bond funding for park improvements which was voter approved on March 14, 2023.
