Recommendation

Approve the First Amendment to the Work Authorization between the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and CJ Contracting, LLC for professional roof maintenance and repair services for the CRA-owned property located at 102 NW 5th Avenue in an amount not to exceed $6,960, and authorize the CRA Board Chair to execute all related documents for said purpose.

Background:

On October 29, 2024, the CRA Board approved a Work Authorization with CJ Contracting, LLC, to provide professional roof maintenance and repair services for the CRA-owned property located at 102 NW 5th Avenue in an amount not to exceed $97,900.

 

Subsequent to that time, CJ Contracting, LLC, has submitted the following change order request due to additional necessary work discovered onsite after the start of the initial services (Exhibit E). The work entails removing additional rotted fascia boards and plywood sheets and installing new fascia boards and plywood sheets to support the new roof at a cost of $6,960.

 

At this time, CRA staff is requesting the CRA Board accept the change order request in the total amount of $6,960 and approve the First Amendment to the Work Authorization between the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency and CJ Contracting, LLC, and thereby adjusting the total Contract Price to $104,860, for the roof maintenance and repair services for the CRA-owned property located at 102 NW 5th Avenue.

CRA Attorney Review:

The CRA Legal Advisor has reviewed the First Amendment to the Work Authorization and has found it to be legally sufficient and acceptable to form.
