CONTRACT AWARD TO AQUIFER MAINTENANCE & PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS, INC. TO REPLACE FLOW METERS FOR ALL CITY RAW WATER WELLS

Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve an award to Aquifer Maintenance & Performance Systems, Inc. (AMPS), utilizing Martin County Contract #2012-2540, for replacement of flow meters for all City raw water wells, at a cost not to exceed $108,200.00.

Body

Background:

On June 2, 2015, the City Commission approved an award with Aquifer Maintenance & Performance Systems, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $120,260.00 for the Production Well Rehabilitation project, P/N 2015-019.  Fiscal year 2016 spending to date with this vendor is $85,877.50.

Now, Environmental Services is requesting authorization to replace flow meters for all City raw water wells, utilizing Martin County Contract #2012-2540.  The accuracy of the existing flow meters has diminished over the years. Accurate flow recordings are required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, South Florida Water Management District, and Palm Beach County for proper allocation of our withdrawals from the different aquifers in which the wells are in.

This award is in accordance with Code of Ordinances Sections 36.02(C)(7) “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts” and 36.03(B) “Multiple Acquisitions From Vendor Exceeding Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) in Any Fiscal Year.”

Aquifer Maintenance & Performance Systems, Inc. has confirmed that pricing offered to the City of Delray Beach is the lowest pricing offered to any other governmental entity within the State of Florida.
