Motion to approve a purchase from Municipal Equipment Company, LLC, utilizing Lake County Contract 12-0806M, for 15 sets of fire bunker gear, at a cost not to exceed $34,190.25.

Background:
On January, 19, 2016, City Commission approved the purchase of fire bunker gear from Municipal Equipment Company, LLC in an amount not to exceed $26,928.00. That purchase supplied 18 new personnel with the appropriate bunker gear.
The Fire Department is now requesting approval to replace 15 expiring bunker gear sets. Bunker gear is good for 10 years. Per the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), any gear that has reached the 10 year max must be taken out of service. Our firefighters must wear bunker gear that is NFPA compliant.
Each set consists of one v-force coat, one pant with belt, one pair of suspenders, emblems, one express coat, and one express pant. The total purchase amount of $34,190.25 has been quoted to the City for purchase of such items. The Fire Department would once again like to utilize Lake County Contract 12-0806M. This purchase is in accordance with Code of Ordinances Sections 36.02(C)(7) “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts” and 36.03(B) “Multiple Acquisitions From Vendor Exceeding Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) in Any Fiscal Year.”
Lake County Contract 12-0806M commenced on June 12, 2012 and had an initial term of one year. Modification Number 1 took effect on June 12, 2013 and extended the contract to June 30, 2014. On July 1, 2015, Modification Number 5 took effect to extend the contract to June 30, 2016.
Fiscal year 2016 spending to date with Municipal Equipment Company, LLC is $6,825.65. After receipt of the 18 sets of bunker gear sets approved for purchase on January 19, 2016, the fiscal year 2016 spending with this vendor is estimated to be $33,753.65.
Municipal Equipment Company, LLC has confirmed that pricing offered to the City of Delray Beach is the lowest pricing offered to any municipality or governmental agency within the State of Florida.
