1) Motion to approve Contract Closeout (Change Order No. 1/Final) to AKA Services, Inc., in the net contract deduct amount of ($153,844.91) and 2) Motion to approve a final payment, in the amount of $20,506.03, to AKA Services, Inc., for completion of the Phase I Tropic Palms Water Main Replacement Project No.14-061.

Background:
On February 3, 2015, Commission approved the bid award (Bid No. 2015-24) in the amount of $826,095 to AKA Services, Inc., for the Phase I Tropic Palms Water Main Replacement Project No. 14-061. The Tropic Palms neighborhood is part of the City’s 2” water main upgrade program which meets the current level of service established by City Commission.
Change Order No. 1/Final, in the net contract deduct amount of ($153,844.91), includes plus and minus quantity adjustments and liquidates the residual from contingency allowances. All changes for the project are itemized on the attached Schedule “A”. The project is complete and all closeout documentation has been received.
This Change Order No. 1/Final is in compliance with Code of Ordinance No. 29-13, Chapter 36, Section 36.06 Change Orders (A)(2) Within the Scope of Work.
After final payment in the amount of $20,506.03 is made, residual funds, in the amount of ($153,844.91) can be liquidated from Purchase Order No. 703881 to reserve Account No. 442-5178-536-68.97 (Water/Sewer Renewal & Replacement Fund/ Improvements Other/Tropic Palms).
City Attorney Review:
Approved as to form and legal suffciency.
Finance Department Review:
Finance recommends approval.
Funding Source:
No funding is required, this is a deductive change order.
Timing of Request:
This item is time sensitive; contractor cannot be paid final payment for completion of the project until approved by Commission and the final change order is fully executed.
