Background:

 

Section 2.4.7(E), Appeals, of the Land Development Regulations applies. This is the method of informing the City Commission of the land use actions which may be appealed to the City Commission. After this meeting, the Commission’s appeal opportunity shall expire.  An appeal by an aggrieved party must be made within 10 working days of the action. To appeal:

 

                     The item must be raised by a Commission member.

                     By motion, an affirmative action must be taken to place the item on the next available meeting of the Commission as an appealed item.

 

During the specified period, the Historic Preservation Board and the Site Plan Review and Appearance Board considered the projects noted below. For each item, a project report including the Board Staff Report is attached. No other Boards took action on any appealable applications during this period.

 

 

HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD

 

 

ITEM A.                      51 North Swinton Avenue

Request:                      Certificate of Appropriateness for elevation changes that includes like-kind roof repair, stucco repair and repainting.

Board Action:   Approved the Certificate of Appropriateness on a 5 to 0 vote (Andrea Harden and Angela Budano absent) with conditions. 

 

ITEM B.                      Swinton Social, 27, 31, 35 and 43 South Swinton Avenue

Request:                      Extension request for an approved Certificate of Appropriateness and Class V site plan for the adaptive re-use and the development of the properties on South Swinton Avenue from single family residential to restaurant and personal services (spa) and for the development of the vacant parcel on SE 1st Avenue to a valet parking lot.

Board Action: Approved the Extension request for the Certificate of Appropriateness and Class V site plan on a 5 to 0 vote (Andrea Harden and Angela Budano absent) with conditions. 

 

ITEM C.                      145 NE 6th Avenue, Turner House

Request:                      Certificate of Appropriateness for the rehabilitation and partial demolition of a detached garage.

Board Action: Approved the Certificate of Appropriateness on a 5 to 0 vote (Andrea Harden and Angela Budano absent) with conditions. 

 

ITEM D.                      525 East Atlantic Avenue, Colony Hotel

Request:                      Certificate of Appropriateness for alterations on the front elevation to an individually designated structure.

Board Action: Approved the Certificate of Appropriateness on a 5 to 0 vote (Andrea Harden and Angela Budano absent). 

 

 

SITE PLAN REVIEW AND APPEARANCE BOARD

 

ITEM E.                     Mercedes Benz, 1010 Linton Boulevard

Request:                      Class III Site Plan Modification, Landscape Plan and Architectural Elevation Plan associated with the construction of an on-site full service car wash facility for a dealership use.

Board Action:                      Approved the Class III Site Plan Modification, Landscape Plan and Architectural Elevation Plan on a 7 to 0 vote with conditions.

 

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Timing of Request:

Action must be taken by the City Commission at the next available meeting following the Board’s actions.
