Background:

The Public Works Department / Fleet Division is responsible for the replacement of all vehicles in the City’s fleet. Rescue Ambulance 201668 has exceeded its life expectancy as a front-line emergency response vehicle and is scheduled for replacement in FY26 in the approved 2026 through 2030 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Budget.

The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA), in partnership with the Florida Association of Counties and Florida Fire Chiefs Association, offers a statewide purchasing contract for local governments, county sheriffs, county government, local county boards, municipalities, police agencies, other local public or public safety agencies, and state universities and colleges. On April 1, 2025, FSA awarded Contract No. FSA25-VEF19.0 for fire & rescue vehicles, boats & equipment. The agreement term is April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2027. Contract prices are extended and guaranteed to any local government or political subdivision of the state, public educational institutions, other public agencies or authorities with the State of Florida, and other entities approved by the manufacturer to participate in this contract.

TEN-8 Fire & Safety, LLC is one of the authorized dealers awarded the contract under FSA Contract No. FSA25-VEF19.0. The Public Works Department / Fleet Division is requesting approval of Resolution No. 06-26 to TEN-8 Fire & Safety, LLC pursuant to the pricing, terms, and conditions of the FSA contract.

Upon acceptance of the new Braun Super Chief Rescue Ambulance, Rescue Ambulance 201668 will be moved into reserve status for the balance of its life cycle and a rescue ambulance currently in reserve status will be disposed of according to policy.

This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36.02, Commission Approval Required; and Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Accessing Contracts from Other Government Agencies and Not-for-Profit Organizations.
