Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve Resolution No.42-19  for Pest Control Services from Orange Pest Control & Services, Inc utilizing the City of Deerfield Beach ITB Solicitation No. 2017-18-62- $100,000 and authorize the City Manager to approve renewal options, contingent upon appropriation of funds

Body

Background:

On December 10, 2018, the City of Deerfield Beach awarded an agreement to Orange Pest Control & Services, Inc. for pest control services. The agreement is valid from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020 with options to renew for three additional one-year periods.

The City of Delray Beach (City) Public Works Department requires pest control services for most of the 122 City-owned buildings. Scheduled routine preventive service eliminates or mitigates economic and health damage caused by pests.

The firm utilizes an Integrated Pest Control Management (IPCM) approach rather than simply spraying products according to prescribed standards. IPCM is a program that is based on prevention, monitoring, and control which offers the opportunity to eliminate or drastically reduce the use of pesticides, and to minimize the toxicity of and exposure to any products which are used.

Should the City exercise the renewal options provided in the contract, the cumulative contract value is provided below.
