Recommendation
Motion to Approve on first reading Ordinance No. 26-16 to amend Article 2.2, "Establishment of Boards Having Responsibility for Land Development Regulations", of the Land Development Regulations (LDR).
Body
Background:
By direction from the City Commission at their meeting on July 12, 2016, an ordinance has been prepared to amend Section 2.2 of the City of Delray Beach Land Development Regulations to change the criteria for the qualifications for Board members. The change will require all board members to be an elector of the City of Delray Beach. In the event that an elector is not available, then the appointing body will have the ability to appoint a non-elector who meets the professional qualifications as described for that board. The proposed ordinance is consistent with Ordinance No. 23-16 amending Chapter 32, "Departments, Boards, and Commissions", of the Code of Ordinances.
The Planning and Zoning Board is considering the proposed amendment on August 15, 2016. The results of the Board's recommendation will be presented at the August 16, 2016, City Commission hearing.
