Motion to approve Public Art Advisory Board pending projects and 2016-2017 Work Plan.

Background:
On February 1, 2005, the Delray Beach City Commission adopted a public art ordinance establishing the Public Art Advisory Board and setting aside 1.5% of Delray Beach capital construction projects over $200,000 for public art.
The seven member board recommends, initiates, and oversees public art projects; establishes the direction for selection of artwork; and advises the City Commission as to policies regarding visual arts. Board members are appointed by the City Commission.
Projects include temporary, permanent, and educational site-specific installations in two and three dimensions from individuals or collaborations.
Three seats on the Board must be filled by persons who are either an artist, architect, landscape architect, or engineer. Lay persons of knowledge, experience, and judgement who have an interest in public art shall make up the balance of the Board.
The current members of the Public Art Advisory Board are:
Daniel Bellante - Chairperson term expires - July 31, 2017
Shirl Fields term expires - July 31, 2016
Steven Blackwood term expires - July 31, 2016
Marianne Regan term expires - July 31, 2017
Carolyn Pendelton-Parker term expires - July 31, 2016
Diane Carter term expires - July 31, 2017
Kevin Rouse term expires - July 31, 2016
The Board currently does not have any vacancies, however a few members have terms that expire at the end of July 2016. Those who are eligible have indicated that they will seek reappointment to the Board.

Funding is available from 115-1702-579-31.90 (Special Projects Fund/Miscellaneous/Public Arts Trust Account/Culture/Recreation/Other Culture/Recreation/ Professional Services/Other Professional Services. This account has an unencumbered balance of $144,235.00

This is an update to the Board by the Public Art Advisory Board regarding the projects that they are working on and the implementation time period/work plan.
