NOMINATIONS FOR APPOINTMENTS TO THE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD. BASED ON THE ROTATION SYSTEM, APPOINTMENTS TO SERVE A TERM ENDING JANUARY 14, 2028 FOR FOUR (4) REGULAR MEMBERS AND TWO (2) ALTERNATE MEMBERS WILL BE MADE BY VICE-MAYOR CASALE (SEAT #3), COMMISSIONER BURNS (SEAT #4), MAYOR CARNEY (SEAT #5), COMMISSIONER MARKERT (SEAT #1), DEPUTY VICE-MAYOR LONG (SEAT #2) AND VICE-MAYOR CASALE (SEAT #3).

Motion to approve the nominations for appointments for four (4) regular members and two (2) alternate members to serve on the Code Enforcement Board for a term ending January 14, 2028.

Background:
The terms for regular members, Mr. Nicholas Coppola, Mr. Stephen Butera, Mr. Terrence Delehanty and Mr. Jimmy Canton will expire on January 14, 2025. The terms for alternate members Mr. Joseph Schulz and Mr. Max Lubin will expire on January 14, 2025.
Mr. Nicholas Coppola has served one (1) unexpired term and two (2) full terms, and is not eligible for reappointment.
Mr. Stephen Butera has served two (2) regular terms, and is not eligible for reappointment.
Mr. Terrence Delehanty has served one (1) unexpired term, is eligible and would like to be reappointed.
Mr. Jimmy Canton has served one (1) unexpired term, is eligible and would like to be reappointed.
Mr. Joseph Schulz has served one (1) unexpired term, is eligible and would like to be reappointed.
Mr. Max Lubin has served one (1) unexpired term, is eligible, but would not like to be reappointed.
Each regular member and alternate member appointed to the Code Enforcement Board shall possess, in addition to experience or interest in the fields of zoning and building control, the following minimum qualifications, where appropriate:
(A) The architect and the engineer shall be registered under the laws of the State regulating the practice of architecture and engineering, or shall possess similar qualifications under the laws of other states, or shall have actual experience deemed by the City Commission to be equivalent to such registration.
(B) The general contractor and the subcontractor shall possess a valid certificate of competency and business tax receipt recognized and accepted under the laws of the State and the ordinances of the City regulating the business of contracting, and where required, State registration as a contractor, or shall possess similar qualifications under the laws of other states, or shall have actual experience deemed by the Commission to be equivalent to a certification.
(C) The Realtor shall be licensed under the laws of the State licensing real estate brokers as either a broker or a salesperson, or shall possess similar qualifications under the laws of other states, or shall have actual experience deemed by the Commission to be equivalent to licensing.
(D) The businessperson shall be actively engaged in any lawful business within the City and shall hold a current and valid business tax receipt issued by the City, or shall be an officer or employee of a business entity holding a current and valid business tax receipt issued by the City, or shall have actual experience deemed by the Commission to be equivalent to a certification.
(E) Each regular and alternate member of the Code Enforcement Board shall be a resident of the City.
