Motion to approve Resolution No. 170-23 to award an Agreement with Don Bell Signs, LLC., for the Fabrication, Construction, and Installation of the Wayfinding and Gateway Signage Project pursuant to ITBC No. 2023-014 (Project No. 21-007) - $1,219,611.00.

 

Body

Background:

The City of Delray Beach (City) wishes to improve wayfinding and Gateway signage within the city to help residents and visitors find way points. This project commenced with the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in Fiscal Year 2021.  The CRA contracted an engineering consultant who developed a design package and assisted with the community outreach to local businesses and residents for input and concurrence.  The project was transferred to the Public Works Department in Fiscal Year 2022 for permitting, bidding, and construction however it remains funded by the CRA.

 

The City issued Invitation to Bid Construction (ITBC) No. 2023-014 to acquire a firm which will provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, and supervision related to the construction of the Wayfinding and Gateway Signage project.

 

On July 19, 2023, the City received two (2) submittals pursuant to ITBC No. 2023-014. The bid submitted by Don Bell Signs, LLC. was deemed responsive and responsible to the bid requirements.

Therefore, staff recommends awarding the bid to Don Bell Signs, LLC. in the base bid price of $1,219,611.00.

 

This motion is in accordance with Code of Ordinances Section 36.02 Commission Approval Required.
