Title

APPROVAL OF AN ADDITIONAL SPENDING ON AGREEMENT P2022-043 WITH DEERE & COMPANY, INC. FOR AGRICULTURE AND LAWN EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,045,604.42 FOR A REVISED TOTAL OF $1,467,761.42.

Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve an additional spending request on Agreement P2022-043 with Deere & Company, Inc. for the agriculture and lawn equipment,  in the amount of $1,045,604.42 for a revised total of $1,467,761.42.

Body

Background:

On September 19, 2022 Commission approved the use of the State of Florida No. 251 O 1900-21-STC. The award term was three (3) year agreement effective date January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023. On October 1, 2023 the State of Florida renewed the agreement for additional three (3) years with the agreement terminating on December 21, 2026.

The City, through Resolution No. 257-25, issued Public Improvement Revenue Bonds in an amount not to exceed $33,000,000.00, Series 2025 (Golf Course Project), to finance all or a portion of the 18-hole public municipal golf course, clubhouse and related facilities.

The Golf Course Project is progressing, and turfgrass installation is currently underway. As installation continues, the turfgrass requires a grow-in period to establish properly and develop into strong, playable grass. Due to the size of the project, the new growth, and the ongoing maintenance requirements, the golf course needs specialized equipment designed to protect fragile young roots and promote rapid, even coverage.

This equipment will help ensure the turfgrass remains healthy and properly established while protecting the City's capital investment in the Golf Course Project.

This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36.02 and City Policies and Procedures, Change Orders and Amendments.
