Recommendation

Recommended Action:

Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Services Management Group (DSMG) approve the special event known as Palm Beach Showcase 7 on 7 to be held on March 29, 2025; and authorize the Special Event Manager (SEM) to take all actions necessary to effectuate the Special Event Permit.

 

Body

Background:

Rise and Grind Sports submitted a Special Event Application on January 10, 2025 for the event Palm Beach Showcase 7 on 7 to be held at the Seacrest Soccer Complex on March 29, 2025. This is a 7 on 7 youth flag football event. The event will have two to three food trucks. There will be no other vendors on site. There will be attendants in the parking lots to assist and make sure people are not parking where they are not supposed to.  Attendants will also ensure proper traffic flow in and out of the lots.  A comprehensive parking plan is attached. This event is expected to draw 200-300 people in attendance throughout the day. 

 

Special Event Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC recommends DSMG approve the event.

No special conditions are recommended by SETAC

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

There is no financial impact to the city. The event producer will be billed for all costs.

 

Timing of Request:

The event is approaching and they would like to begin putting teams together and advertising.
