Recommendation

Recommended Action:

Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Services Management Group (DSMG) approve the special event known as Mission Weekend to be held on November 2, 2024; and authorize the Special Event Manager (SEM) to take all actions necessary to effectuate the Special Event Permit.

 

Body

Background:

The Resurrection Life Fellowship COG submitted a Special Event Application on August 2, 2024 for the event Mission Weekend to be held at the Libby Wesley Plaza on November 2, 2024. This event is a church mission event for the homeless. This event will provide care packages to the homeless population such as toiletries, socks and hand sanitizers. This event will also provide prayer and spread hope to the community. There will be live music and prayer. The church is expecting about 100 people in attendance.

 

Special Event Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC recommends DSMG approve the event.

No special conditions are recommended by SETAC

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Resurrection of Life Fellowship COG is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and will receive a 50% discount in costs.

 

Timing of Request:

The event is quickly approaching and the event producer needs to get supplies together.
