Motion to approve Resolution No. 101-26, amending the rates for sanitation services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the City’s franchise agreement.

Background:
Pursuant to the Exclusive Franchise Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and Waste Management Inc. of Florida, executed on February 27, 2023, Section 38.3 adjusts the solid waste collection rates upwards annually by a maximum of 6% to reflect the change in the CPI and fuel cost. Staff are hereby presenting the required amended rates and fees for the Sanitation Fund. Whereas the rates reflected in the attached Resolution will be effective for the period of October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
The monthly rate to be charged for curbside service for a single-family residential dwelling unit will increase from $19.54 to $20.41 (inclusive of franchise and administrative fees).
