Recommendation

Recommended Action:

Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Service Management Group (DSMG) make a Motion to approve the special event known as O’Connor’s Parade Day to be held on March 13, 2027; and authorize the Special Events Manager (SEM) to take all actions necessary to effectuate the Special Event Permit.

Body

Background:

OConnors SS, LLC submitted a Special Event Application on March 26, 2026 for the event O'Connor's Parade Day to be held on March 13, 2027 at the back parking lot of O'Connor's Pub.  This event has been going on for 20 years and last occurred in March of 2023 without issues.  O'Connor's Pub is under new ownership and would like to bring this annual event back to Delray Beach and would like to bring awareness of the Irish culture to the community.  This event will have alcohol, cooking on site, live music and a road closure of the Puglieses Way alley.  The producer is expecting about 100 people in attendance and the event will run from 9:00am - 10:00pm.  Police have stated they can handle this event along with the others on the St. Patrick's Day weekend. Included in your back up documentation is a side by side map with the PBC Fire Strong Fundraiser event, so you can see both events simultaneously.

Special Event Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC recommends DSMG approve the event.

No special conditions are recommended by SETAC
