Motion to approve a purchase award to Hub City Ford-Mercury, Inc. for a 2017 Ford Transit 350 Passenger Van utilizing Florida Sheriffs Association Contract No. 15-23-0904 in an amount not-to-exceed $43,000.

Body
Background:
The 2004 Ford Van (Vehicle No. 200401) currently used by the Fire Department to transport staff to training locations and other business functions is approaching 100% life-to-date repair costs. The City's Fleet Management Division evaluated the vehicle and determined that replacement is justified. The normal life cylce for a vehicle of this type is usually ten years. The Ford Transit 350 fifteen-passenger van meets Fleet Management's performance criteria and the level of service requested by the Fire Department. Other passenger van makes and models were evaluated and considered however the Ford Transit 350 best meets the overall requirements.

The purchase amount of this vehicle is $41,742.00 utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract No. 15-23-0904. A contingency fund of $1,248.00 is requested to allow for minor modifications to the vehicle purchase.

This purchase is in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(C)(7), "Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts".

Finance Department Review:
Finance recommends approval.
