Title
APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 01-26 UNDER AN APPROVED CITY STANDARD CS2026-002 FOR PURCHASE OF PROMINENT® PUMPS DISTRIBUTED SOLELY BY TRINOVA, INC., THE AUTHORIZED SOURCE FOR THE MUNICIPAL MARKET IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $375,000.

Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Approval of Resolution No. 01-26 under an approved City Standard CS2026-002, for the purchase of ProMinent® Pumps distributed solely by Trinova, Inc., the authorized source for the municipal market in Southeast Florida, in a total amount not to exceed $375,000.

Body
Background:
The Utilities Department Water Treatment Plant (WTP) uses chemical feed pumps as part of its treatment process for potable water. Chemical feed pumps are utilized to feed Chlorine, Ferric Chloride, Polymer and Phosphate. Since 2021, the WTP has been replacing its aging and obsolete pumps with ProMinent® pumps distributed by TriNova Inc., the authorized source for the municipal market in Southeast Florida. Having one brand of pumps to support the chemical feed system is beneficial in that there is less training involved with staff and staff can keep a much smaller inventory for repairs, parts and or replacements. Utilities will utilize ProMinent Pumps distributed by TriNova for pumps, parts, components and repairs on as needed basis.

This motion in is accordance with the Code of Ordinance, Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies.
