Motion to Award a contract in the amount of $564,000.00 to JMW Construction, Incorporated, the lowest responsible and responsive bidder for the Fenway Park Concession Stand and Restroom Project (Project No. 2010-100).

Background:
In 2009, the Robert P. Miller Park baseball facility was renovated and reconfigured to include three new little league fields: (1) one major league field, (2) two-story concession stand/press box building, (3) Miracle League Field and concession stand building, (4) four batting cages, (5) major league practice infield, (6) 3-bay storage building, (7) new pavilion, and (8) pitching and hitting wall area. The original playground was relocated and additional parking was added. Additionally, the fencing and play surface on Little Fenway at the North end of the park was replaced. The new improvements totaled approximately $5.8 million. Not included in the improvements was the Fenway concession stand building which was deferred until such a time in the future when funding will become available.
The Fenway Concession stand and restroom building, a two story wood frame and plywood siding structure built in 1975 was evaluated for potential renovations, however the structure had been structurally compromised. The building was demolished in 2010 as it posed a hazard to park patrons. City Commission approved the hiring of an architect for professional design services for the replacement of the Fenway concession stand building.
