Motion to award a purchase order to SRT Supply, Inc. for the rifle rated carriers with plates and medical kits in the amount of $48,606.40.

Background:
On August 2, 2016, an Invitation to Bid No. 2016-134 was advertised for Rifle Rated Carriers with Plates and Medical Kit. The carriers would be issued to sworn personnel to keep in their vehicle and use during calls or situations in which higher level of protection is needed for the officers Six proposals were received from SRT Supply, KDH Defense Systems, Federal Eastern International, Bulletproof It, LLC, and GT Distributors, Inc. SRT Supply being the lowest responsible and responsive bidder with a total amount of $48, 606.40 which includes 160 carriers each with Level IV ballistic plates and a medical kit which is a pouch with medical supplies to assist with life threatening bleeding injuries.
This motion to award is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02 (A)(1), "Competitive Bids".
