Motion to Approve the award of a housing rehabilitation grant to Cosugas, LLC. for housing rehabiliation services at 308 SW 1st Street in the amount of $32,839.58. This acquisition is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.03(B), "Multiple Acquisitions From Vendor Exceeding Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) in Any Fiscal Year".

Background:
The City has been allocated $408,124 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide for the renovation or repair of existing substandard homes. The rehabilitation of these homes addresses building and code violations, interiors and exteriors of the homes, electrical and plumbing problems, health and safety issues, and the retrofit of special items for those with special needs.

On April 14, 2016, the City issued Invitation to Bid No. 2016-96 for Housing Rehabilitation work to be conducted at 308 SW 1st Street. Two bids were received and Cosugas, LLC was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Total rehabilitation cost may include lead inspection, lead abatement, lead clearance, termite inspection, termite treatment, and recording fees. Grant awards are based on the actual cost of the rehabilitation. Approval is needed for acquisition of services by Cosugas, LLC. in accordance with Section 36.03 (B), as this purchase will result in multiple acquisitions for services in the current fiscal year and aggregately exceed $25,000. Vendor's year-to-date purchases are currently $29,670.70.
