WESTERN GOLF ASSOCIATION COMMUNITY CADDY PROGRAM PRESENTATION

Background:
During the April 7th, 2026 Regular Commission Meeting, consensus was achieved to support a presentation from representatives from the Western Golf Association (WGA). The WGA has developed subsidized caddie programs at public golf courses to create new caddie opportunities to young men and women in local communities. Students are recruited from the community near the selected public golf course and provided training classes that support their development as efficient golf caddies. The WGA currently operates eight Community Caddie Programs at public golf courses in the country with prospects of developing partnerships in South Florida. Representatives from WGA will provide a presentation to the City Commission to discuss active caddie programs, available scholarships and future growth opportunities.
