Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve an award to Brasco International for the purchase of parts to repair damaged bus shelters located at 800 West Atlantic Avenue and 2300 West Atlantic Avenue for a not-to-exceed cost of $21,200.

Body

Brasco bus shelters are used throughout the City of Delray Beach and are the approved City Standard. A quote was received from Brasco International, the manufacturer of the bus shelter and the sole provider of repair parts for Brasco bus shelters to make repairs to damaged bus shelters.

Police reports have been filed and Risk Management is working with the City insurance providers to recover the cost for damages incurred. However this subrogation recovery could possibly take months for a final determination. Leadtime from Brasco is esitmated between 8 -10 weeks. Therefore approval to move forward with the repairs in an expedient manner is requested. To date the City has spent $4,900 with Brasco International.

This motion is in accordance with City Code of Ordinances Section 36.02 (C)(6)(b), "City Standard".
