Background
Single Canvassing Board:
The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, Wendy Satory Link, has asked that each municipality designate the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections as the official Supervisor of each Uniform Municipal Elections such that one Canvassing Board may be empowered to canvass all of the municipal elections in Palm Beach County held simultaneously on a given day. However, the local City Clerk would still be the qualifying officer for its own municipal candidates and take them through the qualifying process.
The Palm Beach County Canvassing Board is comprised of the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, a Palm Beach County Court Judge (who acts as chair), and a Palm Beach County Commissioner. Alternate members are also appointed.
The Office of the City Clerk (Delray Beach) reached out to all thirty-nine (39) incorporated municipalities in Palm Beach County, and thirty-four (34) have opted to designate the Palm Beach County Canvassing Board as the Official Supervisor of Uniform Municipal Elections.
