Motion to Award a Purchase Agreement to Koldaire, Inc. to provide and install air conditioning units at Police Department in an amount not-to-exceed of $168,853.

Background:
On February 3, 2017, the City advertised ITB 2017-013 to Provide and Install Air Conditioning Units at Police Department. The City received five responsible and responsive bids Advanced Roofing, Inc., DAC Air Conditioning Corp., E.C. Stokes Mechanical Contractor, Inc., Farmer & Irwin Corp., and Koldaire, Inc. Koldaire, Inc. submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid. This purchase is for new air conditioning for the Police Department to replace units that are beyond their useful life.
The bid from Koldaire was $168,853. Staff is requesting a contingency of $2,000 for any miscellaneous parts or services required to complete the installation. Staff is recommending approval to award an Agreement to Koldaire, Inc.
This recommendation complies with the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Section 36.02(A)(1), “Sealed Competitive Method".

Finance recommends approval.

Funding will be provided from account number 334-2111-521-64-90 (General Construction Fund: Other Machinery/ Equipment).
