PROCLAMATION: NEXT GENERATION INITIATIVES DAY - THE NEXT GENERATION INITIATIVES IS A CITY OF DELRAY BEACH PROGRAM SET TO INSPIRE GOVERNMENT INNOVATION BY DEVELOPING THE TALENT PIPELINE OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF GOVERNMENT LEADERS. THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO PURSUE OUR INTERNSHIP, SHADOW DAY, VOLUNTEER AND APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS WHERE STUDENTS TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP A VARIETY OF SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY TO START A CAREER IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

Background:
This proclamation declares Tuesday, July 16th as Next Generation Initiatives Day in the City of Delray Beach, Florida. We urge all residents, schools, businesses and community organizations to join us in recognizing the value and the need for developing the talent pipeline within the City of Delray Beach.
The Next Generation Initiative helps young men and women gain experience and skills to begin and further their careers. Mentoring, internships and other leadership programs introduce students and young professionals to entrepreneurs, department managers and public officials in a wide range of fields.
The Next Generation Initiatives have the potential to reach thousands of young leaders in the City and connect them with community leaders and experts who share their wisdom and experience and work with them to prepare them for their future roles.
