Background:

October is National Community Planning Month. The City of Delray Beach has a long history of undertaking community planning processes to determine its vision, aid in downtown and neighborhood revitalization, and protect historic resources. The Development Services Department is home to several programs that contribute to the future of the planning profession. The department actively participates in Atlantic High School programs, teaching students about the value of community planning and since 2010, the department has also worked directly with students and young professionals through the Department’s internship and Planner-in-Training programs to guide professional development in the field.
