Background:
The City Commission had requested a list of City owned property with development potential. To meet this request, City staff reviewed the over 200 parcels currently owned by the City (according to the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser). Properties were reviewed for their size, location, whether the site would potentially require any waivers from development regulations to be built upon with a reasonable structure. The large majority of the City's properties are currently being utilized by the City for the provision of services to City residents. These include parks, fire stations, stormwater drainage facilities, parking lots, city administration buildings, and similar such uses. A number of the parcel remaining once those being utilized are eliminated, are small portions of land that for unknown reasons that may have included landscaping areas along and in rights-of-way, parts of alleyways that were not recorded as rights-of-way. Once all of these parcels are accounted for, 14 potentially developable city owned parcels remain. The presentation to be given will show the City Commission the 14 parcels and provide basic information regarding each.
