Title

APPROVAL TO CO-SPONSOR THE ANNUAL BOYNTON BEACH HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00

Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Boynton Beach to Co-Sponsor the annual Holiday Boat Parade in the amount of $5,000.00 for a total of five (5) annual events.

Body

Background:

The Boynton Beach Holiday Boat Parade has been an annual tradition since 1973. The parade begins near the Ocean Avenue Bridge in Lantana (by the Old Key Lime House) and travels south along the Intracoastal Waterway to the C-15 Canal just south of Linton Boulevard in Delray Beach.

The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) previously organized the event, and the City of Delray Beach has contributed funding and in-kind support since 2016.

Beginning with the 2026 event, the City of Boynton Beach will assume responsibility as the lead organizer. This agreement formalizes the respective roles, responsibilities, and financial contributions for one (1) annual event, for a total of up to five (5) annual events.

The Holiday Boat Parade promotes tourism, supports local businesses, and provides a free community celebration for residents and visitors.
