Motion to approve a purchase from Sunshine Golf Car, utilizing Palm Beach County School Board Contract 14C-46A, for one Star-EV electric golf car, in the amount of $9,999.95.

Background:
On November 10, 2015, the City Manager approved the purchase of three (3) golf cars from Sunshine Golf Car utilizing Palm Beach County School Board Contract 14C-46A. These golf cars replaced golf cars used by the Police Department volunteers. The total expense of these three (3) golf cars was $21,274.32, which brought fiscal year 2016 spending with Sunshine Golf Car to $21,299.46.
Now, Community Improvement would like to purchase one Star-EV 48-4+2 people mover electric golf car in the amount of $9,999.95, again utilizing Palm Beach County School Board Contract 14C-46A. This purchase is in accordance with Code of Ordinances Sections 36.02(C)(7) “Utilization of Other Governmental Entities’ Contracts” and 36.03(B) “Multiple Acquisitions From Vendor Exceeding Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) in Any Fiscal Year.”
The Clean & Safe crew will use this golf car to patrol the entire Clean & Safe area, stretching from I95 -A1A, making sure that every aspect in this region is maintained. The golf car will be used to patrol the residential areas, commercial areas, and alley ways ensuring all parties are in compliance. Furthermore, due to the traffic and congestion during special events in the clean & safe area, this golf car will assist with the maneuverability to do jobs efficiently. The golf car will also be a huge assistance in collecting trash, signs, and other items that may litter the clean and safe area.
