Review and consider Resolution 84-26, approving an Impact Event known as Delray In The Sky Drone Show to be held July 29, 2026 and authorizing the closure of Swinton Avenue from Atlantic Avenue to 1st Street.

Background:
The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department submitted a Special Event Application on March 5, 2026 for the event Delray In The Sky Drone Show to be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Old School Square and on Swinton Avenue and 2nd Avenue. This is the second time this event will be taking place. The turnout was so big in 2025 that the site plan needed to be expanded for more viewing areas. The police department wanted Swinton to be closed as well as 2nd Avenue. This event falls into the category of an impact event because of the anticipated attendance being over 3,500 people and the requested closure of a major roadway in Swinton Avenue. The roads will close at 2pm and reopen by 11pm. Swinton Avenue will be closed from Atlantic Avenue to 1st Street and 2nd Avenue will be closed from the alleyway to the garage bollards.

This event will include cooking on site, food trucks, live music and merchandise vendors. The event will go from 6pm - 9pm and is expected to have about 5,000 people in attendance. 500 drones will be included in the visual display and will launc...
