Motion to Approve Resolution No. 46-26 to award an agreement with Royal Auction Group, Inc. for Auctioneer Services utilizing City of Fort Lauderdale RFP Event #21-3; authorizing the City Manager to execute any amendments and/or renewals thereto and take any and all actions necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution; providing an effective date; and for other purposes.

Background:
The Public Works Department manages the disposal of capital assets, to include totally wrecked vehicles. Pursuant to Section 36.03 of the City of Delray Beach Code of Ordinances, non-real property may be sold or auctioned.

On January 10, 2023, the City of Fort Lauderdale issued RFP Event #21-3 for Auctioneer Services, a revenue generating contract.

Effective June 26, 2023, the City of Fort Lauderdale entered an agreement with Royal Auction Group, Inc. (RAG) pursuant to the RFP. The initial term of the agreement is valid through May 1, 2026, with the option to extend for two (2) additional one-year periods. The City of Fort Lauderdale intends on extending the agreement for another year utilizing one of the two renewal option from May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027.

Utilizing this agreement, the City may auction non-real property ranging from cars and trucks, heavy equipment, office equipment and furniture, and other equipment and supplies. All items will be sold at public absolute sale to the highest bidder regardless of price without reserve unless a minimum price is established by the City.
