Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve the request to postpone the hearing scheduled for January 20, 2026, for the appeal of the Planning and Zoning Board recommendation of denial regarding a conditional use request for Conklin Carwash located at 14145 South Military Trail.

Body

Background:

This request stems from an appeal filed by Attorney Matthew H. Scott.  Mr. Scott is appealing the Planning and Zoning Board recommendation of denial regarding a conditional use request to establish a carwash on the property located at 14145 S. Military Trail.  Pursuant to the City’s Land Development Regulations, an appeal must be heard no more than 60 days from the Clerk’s receipt of the request for an appeal.  Here, the appeal was filed on November 20, 2025, and was scheduled to be heard on January 20, 2026.

Mr. Scott is requesting a postponement of the matter to February 3, 2026.  Staff have no objection to the request.
