Background:

The City Commission created the Kids and Cops Committee to seek solutions to challenges facing youth through specific programs. The City of Delray Beach Police Department sets forth programming and community initiatives to address issues related to the youth and foster a relationship between the City and community youth. The City Commission finds that the Police Department’s initiatives further the City’s goal to bring forth said programs to the City’s youth, therefore, it is in the best interest of its citizens to repeal Chapter 32, “Departments, Boards and Commissions”, Sections 32.40 - 32.44, “Kids and Cops Committee”. This ordinance repeals Chapter 32, “Departments, Boards and Commissions”, Sections 32.40 - 32.44, “Kids and Cops Committee” in its entirety.
