Recognize the Delray Beach Police Department for achieving third consecutive Excelsior Recognition by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc., and Accreditation Manager Jennifer Rivera for being instrumental in ensuring agency-wide accreditation compliance

Background:
An accreditation program has long been recognized as a means of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. Accreditation is the certification by an independent reviewing authority that an entity has met specific requirements and prescribed standards. Law enforcement agencies and Inspector Generals in Florida can attain accredited status through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc.
On July 1, 2010, the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. adopted a new exceptional level of achievement program named Excelsior Recognition. The criteria of this level of achievement include Commitment of Accreditation and Excellence in Accreditation. Commitment to Accreditation is defined by candidate agencies shall have been awarded five (5) successful reaccreditation cycles by the Commission. Excellence in Accreditation is defined by a candidate agency’s reaccreditation interval shall only be credited toward this new recognition status if conditions were not assessed by the Commission.
