Motion to grant approval for Parks and Recreation to apply for a reimbursable summer camp scholarship program through Palm Beach County Youth Services Department (YSD) and if approved, to receive payments based upon the program eligibility guidelines.

Background:
The Summer Camp Scholarship Program provides full-tuition and fees for summer camp for children residing in families with income at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. It allows parents to go to work with the knowledge that their children are safe. It gives the children educational and recreational opportunities for growth. Parents may choose from participating camps in Palm Beach County.
The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department provides a supervised, structured program of recreational and sporting activities in a safe environment.
Since 2018, 316 children enrolled in the Out of School Program were provided with summer camp scholarships. The table below shows the last five (5) years of total funds reimbursed through the YSD Program.
