Motion to approve an Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach County and their Drowning Prevention Coalition (DPC) Learn to Swim Program.
Body
Background:
Palm Beach County, through the DPC Learn to Swim Program, provides vouchers to the public which may be redeemed for swimming lessons at approved aquatic facilities within Palm Beach County.
Each swim class consists of a series of water safety swimming lessons that total at least three (3) hours. The vouchers may be reimbursed for up to $60.00 each. If the class cost exceeds $60.00, the voucher holder is responsible for the difference.
The City of Delray Beach has participated in this program since 2007, helping hundreds of participants take part in the Parks and Recreation Learn to Swim Program.
