Background:
In October, the City of Delray Beach hosted a 7th grade essay contest to celebrate Florida City Government Week. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from Village Academy and Carver Middle School will read their essays at the Commission meeting, which answered the question, "Why is local government important?" Deputy Vice Mayor, Shirley Johnson, will present the winners with a certificate and gift card.
