Motion to approve Resolution No. 113-25, amending the rates for sanitation services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the City’s franchise agreement.

Body

Background:

Pursuant to the Exclusive Franchise Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and Waste Management Inc. of Florida, executed on February 27, 2023, staff is hereby presenting the amended rates and fees for the Sanitation Fund. Whereas the rates reflected in the attached Resolution will be effective for the period of October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026.

The monthly rate to be charged for curbside service for a single-family residential dwelling unit will increase from $19.13 to $19.54 (inclusive of franchise and administrative fees).

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

Timing of Request:

Timely approval will permit the necessary preparation for rates to become effective October 1, 2025.
